I think the answer to this lies in the fact that Zbigniew begins with a 'z', allied to the fact that the murderer in the average detective novel is invariably unmasked at the end. If this is not the case, and it is an obscure literary reference, Herbert Zbigniew (1924-1998)was a Polish poet of some renown who had three M.A.'s and served in the Polish resistance during the war. Although some of his work is available in English, it does lose something in translation. Have a nice day!
