[ Donate : Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund Save The Rhino ] <Prev Next> Subject: Re: beijidolphins ( 2 of 7 ) Posted by Ann Just in case DNA is too busy, I thought I'd reply to this worthy problem. :) While reading Last Chance, I was intrigued by the dolphins and went on my own search, but was surprised to find little information. Here are some resources that I found--hope they help!! Also remember while searching to use both spellings of "baiji" and "beiji." You'll pull up more information. Also try "Chinese River Dolphin." Other names: Yangtze River Dolphin, Pei C’hi, Whitefin Dolphin. Here is a book, if you can locate it or get it through interlibrary loan: Baiji, the Yangtze River Dolphin and Other Endangered Animals of China, by Zhou Kaiya, et al Here are some websites: A MUST: http://www.ctio.noao.edu/~hoard/baiji/baiji5b.html A student website--you may not want to quote it in your citations--it's not a professional resource with expert knowledge and your teacher might not approve. However, this has some great info that will give you some links and references: http://members.aol.com/cokroach13/main.htm Two other sites: http://www.savethewhales.org/riverdol.html http://www.mmsc.org/archive/ Good luck to you! :) Ann <Prev Next>
