My understanding is that the 'theories' that have been mentioned claiming that Mozart's music had a positive effect on the brain are based on someone's experience to that effect.

Since music appreciation is so subjective, I don't think we can expect much more of a proof than this. So if it has a positive effect on *your* brain (as it does on mine) then that's probably all you need to know !
