Subject: A question on names... ( 1 of 4 ) Posted by THE Mr. Adams, How do you come up with some of the names used in your work? Particularly in The Hitchhiker's series? I mean, was "Slartibarfast" what you intended or was were you dictating and something got stuck in your throat? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy your work and love some of the names you have come up with (Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged, for one), but how do you keep your names from degrading into random giberish (as opposed to the ordered giberish?). PS: As a side note, having (attempted) to keep up with your work over the years, I have noticed you seem to have aquired a large collection of Macintoshes (Macintoshii, perhapse?), and was wondering if you ever owned a Powerbook 5300/Desktop Hibachi unit, and if so, did yours ever burst into flames? -Joseph Next>
