As an additional to this post - it is a recognised funding route for smaller films to mailshot interested parties (people registered on h2g2 for example) and ask for investment as a minor stakeholder. Worth considering as I'm sure there are millions of DNA fans who would jump at the opportunity of part-financing a DG film. I'd stump up for Thor's hammer for a start...
