I'm a professional (or nearly) opera singer. . . and there is an opera singer's (and indeed a musician's) union. I've always thought that giving singers/actors/musician, who are naturally inclined to being bitchy and demanding, a legal right to be bitchy and demanding was a very, very bad move on someone's part.

I'm off to demand more money for a 15 minute rehearsal in which I have to sing a Bb before noon.
