Electric guitars have pickups, not mikes (unless this is some foreign term I'm not familiar with -- I do recognize that there are people from many countries involved in this discussion). Where I come from, a mike is for singing, and pickups are for sending the sounds of your guitar to your amp (and causing feedback when desired -- or sometimes when not desired, which tends to be the case with one of my electric guitars, which has pretty bad pickups and feeds back consistently at even medium volumes -- but I digress).

One could mike an accoustic guitar, I suppose. But there again, one would be better off just getting an accoustic with a pickup.
