True, the American government is in the hands of big business, but big business answers to a much stronger force: the middle-class consumer.

We don't care how much they cheat and exploit people or how much filth they dump into the air, soil and water or how many tax loopholes they go through or how much pork they manage to suck out of the federal government as long as they pass the savings on to us.
