Michael Palin would have been great casting for Arthur, he is brilliant, but unfortunately he really is now about as old as Stonehenge.

Oddly enough, he reminded me the other day that I had originally asked him to do the voice of the Guide on the radio, and he wondered how differently his career would have gone if he had accepted. Pretty much exactly the same is my guess.
