Subject: Mr. Douglas Adams ( 1 of 12 ) Posted by Michelle Forgive me ahead of time if my question has already been answered. But I stumbled upon a rather petty but suprising thing on this fine day in June. I have read Hitchhiker's Guide I don't know how many times. And also all the continuations. As I began Restuarant at the End of the Universe I came upon a surprising sentence. Chapter 1 ...For instance, a race of hyperintelligent pan-dimensional beings once built themselves a gigantic supercomputer called Deep Thought to calculate once and for all the Question to the Ultimate Answer of Life, the Universe and Everything. For seven and a half million years, Deep Thought computed and calculated, and in the end announced that the answer was in fact Forty-Two-and so another, even bigger, computer had to be built to find out what the actualy question was. I believe Deep Thought indeed found the answer and the next computer was to find the question. Is this intentional? Once again a slightly anal and petty note. But I had never noticed it before and I was more the amply surprised. Michelle Next>
