Very sad day. I met him once,when he and Terry Jones were signing the Comic Relief book in Waterstones in Edinburgh, 1985/86. A lovely man, willing to tolerate our rubbishy predictable questions about 42 and "is their a film version coming out?" (yes, even then). Will be hugely missed.
