Subject: Farewell ( 1 of 1 ) Posted by Ben C-F Just heard the news, thought I should write something at least. My father read the Hitchhiker's stories to me when I was a child, frankly they changed my life (or at least my sense of humor!). All of his books, the Hitchhikers, the Dirk Jentley's, Last Chance To See, I loved all of them. I still love all of them of course, but I loved them then as well. At least I think I do, I haven't read them lately, probably should. Such a beautifully ironic style of writing, at times poetic, at times ridiculously hysterical (I'll never forget how hard I laughed the first time I read "Oh no, not again"), just a wonderful writer. And he will be missed, no doubt about it. Long Live Douglas Adams. ben |
