Subject: Tax evasion ( 1 of 1 ) Posted by Anders Wahlbom Even though there are authors I like better *now*, no other writer (except maybe Isaac Asimov) ever had such an impact on me as when I stumbled over the Swedish translation of HHGG at the age of 12. I never stopped liking DNA's stuff, but merely became less fanatic about it; still, although I never knew him or even wrote to him, I almost feel as if I have lost a friend. Like me, Douglas was an atheist, so I don't believe in an afterlife, but I still feel better saying: Douglas, thank you for making my life, and those of millions others, a little happier, and I wish you luck with the Great Tax Evasion Scheme. |
