Subject: He Will Be Missed ( 1 of 1 ) Posted by Christopher Moore Douglas Adams opened a door through which I, and many other writers were able to enter the field. I remember when I was writing my first book, Practical Demonkeeping, saying to a friend, "I just want to do for horror what Douglas Adams has done for Science Fiction." He showed us all that books could be funny, extraordinarily funny, and that conciousness survives him. Since the day I first found The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe in a Santa Barbara book store, Douglas Adams' work has been an inspiration to me. He will be missed. |
