I didn't even know that David Gilmour and Douglas Adams were friends, but checking into it, I see that you're right. Also, that Paul McCartney's keyboard player is an old chum. Hmm. Well, the plot does thicken.

For anyone trying to confirm this observation for yourself, I don't think it's possible. It was during the ten minutes of crowd footage aired before the LIVE first broadcast of this gig. This footage isn't shown in the replays.
