( 5 of 7 ) Posted by Douglas Adams The theory was that hammer-ons, pull-offs, bends, slides and so on could be rendered much more accurately when the guitar was only concerned with tracking what your fingers were doing to the strings rather than trying to determine what pitch the string was sounding at any moment. I'm told it worked well in practice as well, but I can't speak from personal experience. I only know that pitch-to-MIDI is a pretty clumsy business requiring huge amounts of detailed editing. <Prev Next>
