I agree that Slartibartfast was perfect, and the tune was catchy. But as for special effects, i think the movie needs to have a great high-tech feel to it. No wobbly sets or pantomime action. The only way this humor will work in a movie is if it looks like ordinary sci-fi (somewhere between 2001 and the Lost in Space movie), with the humor pitched like Monty Python. Anybody see Life of Brian. Now THAT'S how the Hitchhikers humor should be handled. Oh, one more thing: Which book do people think is best suited to a movie? I think it would have to be Life, the Universe and Everything. They could do a great Star Wars satire with it.
