Woody, you're confusing religion with God. I think religion is a fairly awful thing. And most popes have been jackasses, including the current one. Just because a religious figure proclaims some stultifyingly ludicrous thing, doesn't make it so.

The problem with attacks upon God is that they tend to be attacks upon religion. They are not the same thing, and they aren't even close. It's like attacking the Volkswagen because you don't like Hitler. Well...it's not quite like that, but it's similar.
