Rob,

I would like to post a response to your (well-worded) observations. I do not believe in god, but I do agree with you that it is silly the amount of time put into (or in many cases I would argue wasted) discovering logical reasons for why everything does what it does, when we, as a human race, are the most illogical things found on this lump of rock we claim to own.
The fight between Faithists and Logicists is going to continue for (here believers would say "god" and others "who") knows how long, until one or the other is proven wrong. But why do so many spend so much time on something we have no way of knowing whether or not there is a right or wrong answer to? And even if there is, either way a large group of people will be very upset and dissapointed. Is it just me, or is this a very selfish way to go through life, trying to prove that something does or does not exist, when all you're really trying to prove is yourself right and someone else wrong?
It is my humble opinion that the believers should go on believing without allowing themselves to be disgruntled by those who disagree, and those who disagree should simply allow themselves to assume that they are right without the childish need to prove everything logical.
