The fact that some three thousand Jews voted for Pat Buchanan, a hard-core anti-semite, should be proof enough that the ballots weren't as easy to understand as you would think.

These weren't the same ballots they used for previous elections. Our county still used the old ballots. The old ballots had two columns listing the candidates, just like the new ones. Unlike the new ones, the old ballots also have two columns where you fill in the dots to make your selection.
